Reading Bodies Take Flight at Harrisburg International Airport
Company Name: Harrisburg International Airport
Reading Products: Reading Classic and Spacemaster Service Bodies and Platform Body
Type of Service: Emergency Response, Water/wastewater Department

When you use the words fleet and airport in the same sentence, one would think youre talking about a fleet of airplanes. And most of the time, you probably are. Airplanes are the preferred transportation vehicle of choice at airports. But a truck fleet is a vital part of an airport as well.
Harrisburg International Airport recently added four Reading bodies to their fleet of 100 - 2 Spacemaster service bodies, a stake body, and a Classic II service body. The Spacemaster bodies are being used as emergency response vehicles while the stake body is being used a multi-purpose vehicle for moving large items around the airport grounds. The Classic II is a field service vehicle for their water/waste water department.
Bob Gardner, Fleet Manager, said that he was very impressed with Reading products. Theyre adaptable and we use them every day. I like the Spacemaster and the room it provides.
The Spacemaster rescue truck was customized with high intensity discharge (HID) speaker lights with 7.5 KW generator built into the cargo area and 2 1500 watt quartz lights mounted on top of the body.
The Reading bodies were purchased through Crest Truck Equipment, an authorized Reading distributor, located in Bowmansville, PA. The chassis were purchased through Whiteside Chevrolet in St. Clairsville, OH. Gardner added that he was very pleased with Crest and Whiteside. They help make Reading more of our standard.
Harrisburg International Airport, formerly Olmstead Air Force Base, has been a public airport for 34 years and employs 100 people.
Standard features of the Reading service bodies include construction of two-sided A60 galvannealed steel and Lectro-Life
® immersion priming for complete rust protection. Other standard features include automotive-quality rotary locks for secure protection to tools and equipment, stainless steel bolt-on hinges keeping the compartment doors operating smoothly in all weather conditions, and double paneled compartment doors offering greater durability.
