Reading Body Makes Things Easier for Mullen Industrial Handling

Company Name: Mullen Industrial Handling Corp.
Reading Products: Classic® Series Service Body
Type of Service: Sales, Service & Installation of Loading Dock Equipment

By customizing its new Reading Classic® Series Service Body, Mullen Industrial Handling Corporation created not only increased storage space, but an additional work platform as well.
Service manager Greg Prouty said Mullen purchased and customized the Classic Series dual wheel service body, which was installed on a 2000 Ford F450. The vehicle is one of four installation vehicles in Mullens 19 truck fleet, three of which are Reading bodies.
The Classic® Series Service Body features weathertight exterior storage compartments and an open cargo area. Mullen ordered the compartments with increased depth, a spring-loaded Master Locking system which allows all side compartments to be secured simultaneously, a channel step bumper, stainless steel slam locks, and a 12-gauge deck plate atop the side compartments.
The vehicle was then further customized with a ladder rack. We fabricated a catwalk over the cargo area to stand on as a work platform, said Prouty. This is used, he explained, when dock pads are being installed by Mullen employees.
For over 30 years, Mullen Industrial Handling has sold, installed and serviced loading dock equipment and stationary recycling equipment such as compactors and balers. Mullen serves the entire state of New York, as well as part of Massachusetts, Vermont and Pennsylvania.
Mullen purchased the body through Syracuse Truck and Trailer, an authorized Reading distributor in Syracuse, NY.
Standard Reading Classic® Series features include two-sided A60 galvannealed steel construction and Lectro-Life® immersion priming which provides complete rust protection in every nook and cranny. Double-paneled compartment doors with stainless steel bolt-on hinges provide smooth operation and increased security. Flange-mounted automotive rubber door seals keep compartments weathertight.
The compartments are used, said Prouty, to transport power tools, a full line of hardware and hand tools, and some welding equipment. The cargo area accommodates additional torches and other supplies, ladders and smaller parts of the equipment being installed.

Reading Spacemaster Helps Ease the Load

Company Name: Anderson Material Handling
Reading Products: Spacemaster, Unberboxes
Type of Service: Sales & Installation of Loading Dock Equipment

Anderson Material Handling recently purchased a Reading Spacemaster service body.
The Reading Spacemaster service body offers weathertight exterior storage compartments, some accessible from the bodys interior, and an enclosed cargo area. The cargo area is accessible through full-height rear double doors.
According to Mark Fitzpatrick, service manager, they chose the Reading Spacemaster service body because it makes it easier for us to organize the truck. Its really user-friendly for the guys using the truck.
The servicemen are able to organize the exterior compartments with their frequently used tools and equipment, keeping the cargo area free for transporting large equipment and supplies. Handling the entire state means the trucks must be well equipped with tools and parts to handle the many situations encountered.
The unit was customized by adding underboxes mounted with a welder/generator between the cab and body. The underboxes provide additional storage as well as support for the generator.
Anderson Material Handling provides industrial sales and installation of loading dock equipment. They service the state of Pennsylvania.
Anderson Material Handling purchased their Reading Spacemaster through Crest Truck Equipment, an authorized Reading distributor located in Bowmansville, PA.
Standard Reading features include construction of two-sided A60 galvannealed steel combined with Readings Lectro-Life® immersion priming. Lectro-Life® acts as a critical aid in the fight against rust and corrosion; flange-mounted rubber door seals provide weathertight protection to tools and equipment stored in the compartments; and stainless steel bolt-on hinges offer greater security and smooth operation of the compartment doors in all weather conditions.
