Ken Webber, owner and operator of Special Coatings, was looking for a strong truck cap that could handle the daily on-the-job abuse and hold everything too.  After looking at Reading caps, he looked no further.

Constructed of A60 galvannealed steel, Reading caps are able to offer years of solid on-the-job performance.  Ken purchased a Reading Space Cap, model number SC99F, and had it mounted on a 2000 Ford F-250 pickup truck.

Ken travels across two counties to various residential, commercial, and industrial painting jobs and needs to transport a lot of tools and equipment.  The Space Cap allows him to do this because it offers weathertight exterior storage compartments and an enclosed cargo area.  The cargo area is accessible through a rear lift-up door.

To transport ladders, Ken opted for a roof-mounted ladder rack.  For better visibility inside the cargo area, dome lights were added.  And, for more organized storage, swivel hooks were added.

In addition to the A60 galvannealed steel construction, Reading Space Caps feature full rust protection with Reading’s Lectro-Life® priming.  In the Lectro-Life® process, the caps are completely submerged in a vat of electrically charged primer, ensuring complete, even coverage.

Other standard features include double paneled compartment doors for greater strength and security; bolt-on stainless steel hinges keeping doors operating smoothly in any climate; and slam action rivet-on locks for securely locking compartments.
