COVID-19 Updates

April 6, 2020

We are pleased to announce that Reading Truck Group has received an exemption from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, now designating us as a life-sustaining business. This exemption will allow us to resume operations, effective Tuesday, April 7th, at our Reading Truck Body manufacturing facility in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Plant operations will restart gradually in order to properly assess the impact the temporary shutdown has had on our supply chain and build schedules. We intend to confirm build schedules and commitment dates to you as soon as we are able, at which time your Reading Customer Service representatives and your sales team member will reach out to advise of any changes or updates. Our online portal will also be continually updated as information becomes available.

Thank you again for your continued patience and understanding. We look forward to the continued opportunity to serve you and hope for better days ahead.

Replacement Parts Ordering
Replacement Parts Manufacturing at the Reading plant has has been suspended under the directive of the state of Pennsylvania. We are currently applying for a waiver of exemption to re-start our essential manufacturing business which supports critical infrastructure customers. The Reading Parts Distribution Center remains open and able to ship replacement parts we have in inventory.

We are still able to accept quote request and Parts orders, but all communication should be sent to ReadingParts@readingbody.com. The Parts Department is currently operating remotely, so we strongly urge customers to refrain from direct communication to team members and requesting that this e-mail address is used as primary method of communication.

Warranty Team
The Warranty department is still able to receive and process claims at this time. Since we are operating remotely, please direct all communications to RTBWarranty@readingbody.com.

Should you need to speak to a team member, please dial our toll-free number (800) 458-2226 during office hours.

March 20, 2020

Over the last several days we have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and adapting our business and manufacturing practices to ensure the health and safety of our team members, supply chain partners, service providers and customers.

Unfortunately, due to the continued spread of the virus and in accordance with orders from Pennsylvania’s Governor, Tom Wolfe, Reading’s Pennsylvania-based operations will close effective Friday, March 20, 2020. These facilities include Reading Truck Body manufacturing in Reading, PA, as well as Reading Truck Equipment in Bowmansville, PA.

All customer-facing functions like Customer Service, Quotations, Sales, Service and Warranty, as well as non-Pennsylvania operations remain open and operational with enhanced protocols in place for sanitation, social distancing and security. Please contact your customer account representative through their normal e-mail or mobile phone as appropriate.

Reading leadership is meeting continuously to evaluate business operations, as well as to closely monitor communications from our state and federal governments to ensure we’re in compliance with the latest safeguards and protective measures.

We remain committed to the continued safety of our team at Reading, as well as our friends and neighbors across the country and around the world.  We will continue to work hard to keep our employees safe and our customers serviced and communicate any changes as they become necessary. We wish nothing but safety and good health to all of you.
