June 12, 2015: Built to Last – Reading Truck Body of Berks County Celebrates 60th Year in the Manufacturing Industry

Posted by Reading Body Marketing on 06/12/2015

In 1955, local Reading businessman Mr. Irving Suknow had a vision—to improve the quality of service bodies for the contracting industries. Since the beginning, Reading Truck Body, LLC was a pioneer in the work truck industry, designing and building high quality steel and aluminum work trucks customers can depend on to maximize organization and efficiency. The rest, as they say, is history.

Over the last 60 years, Reading Truck Body has exponentially grown in many ways. With more than 400 employees, a 335,000 square foot production space under one roof, and a strategic expansion plan that has allowed us to expand into new U.S. marketplace territories, we’ve evolved into a leading innovator. Yet, in certain ways, the passage of time hasn’t changed us a bit. We are proud of our roots in Berks County, and we wouldn’t want it any other way—Reading Truck Body is here to stay. And while we embrace the technological advancements and tools available to continuously sharpen our operational processes, nothing substitutes for the quality craftsmanship of our employees. Our talented, driven production team has shaped us into the industry leader we are today. At Reading Truck Body, everything on the production line begins and ends with our employees—from the initial design of innovative products to constructing quality aluminum and steel bodies to finishing truck bodies with our proprietary E-Coat primer and power coat finish system. Simply put, our success is attributed to the expertise of our workforce—and we’re looking for people like you to grow.

Although the world has drastically evolved over the past 60 years since we entered the manufacturing business, one thing will remain—our search to add talent to our growing team. Offering a safe working environment, competitive pay, and excellent benefits, we are seeking qualified, motivated individuals for production assistance, fabrication, welders, supervisors and design engineers to join our growing team. Not only is there no body better than Reading Truck Body, but there’s no better place to work.
