Keeping construction projects on schedule despite bad weather and other inevitable delays is a constant challenge, and reliable, properly equipped work trucks are essential to the task. Reading builds truck bodies that deliver precisely the features and capabilities you need to keep your crews productive and safe on the job site. Our truck bodies offer secure, weathertight storage and heavy-duty components engineered to stand up to the rigors of construction work.
Fleet: 125 pieces of heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators and track-loaders plus 100 on-road vehicles, including class 1 to class 5 trucks.
Featured truck: Reading Classic II 9½-foot service body with an F-350 chassis
Schlouch uses this Reading service body in the field for heavy site coordination and pipe-work coordination. This work horse is great for hauling tools, GPS components, lasers for checking grade and transits, all materials of trade, and fuel tanks for onsite fueling. The larger cargo bed provides room for hauling traffic cones, plates, portable trench compacters and more.
The expanded utility truck bed space of Reading’s 9½-foot service body is also ideal for hauling an ATV in the field for site topo’s, one of Schlouch’s unique needs. “We take safety seriously here, and with the gate left down on an 8-foot service body, the tie-down straps needed to be 100 percent secure, which is tough in the back of a utility body,” says Fleet Manager Kevin Reimert. “The Reading body fully accommodates the ATV with the tailgate closed.”
Reimert also chooses Reading truck service bodies for their features. “Reading has stayed current with this era,” he says. “Schlouch is focused on efficiencies, and so we appreciate how they evolve their engineering designs and options for efficiency and durability, like the electronic key fob for quick locking, lighting and security.”
